The FIFPRO World 11, honoring the year's top male and female footballers as selected by the International Professional Footballers' Association, was initially known as the FIFPRO World 11. It was launched in 2005 with the objective of recognizing the finest footballers as chosen by their peers. In 2009, a partnership with FIFA led to a rebranding of the award to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," retaining the original voting process. Commencing in 2024, FIFPRO will independently oversee the prize and revert to its original title: the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year is a distinguished accolade chosen through ballots cast by professional footballers from across the globe, standing as the sole international honor that is entirely determined by the players themselves. The criteria for the selection of the nominees are based on their performances from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026, with a minimum requirement of participation in 30 official matches during this period.
The final lineup will consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, and the additional player who receives the highest number of votes from non-goalkeeper candidates.
